BEE Buzz - Music for 2-6 year olds

Buzz resumes on Wednesday 12th January 2011.

BEE Buzz is a music class for children aged 2-6. The classes are run by Vicky O'Neill, a professional musician and experienced music teacher in UK schools for both instrumental and group music activities. Vicky has also run Kindermusik-style classes in the UK as well as choirs and recorder/handbell groups.

Play, sing, dance and play with musical instruments... the aim of BEE Buzz is to introduce children to music in a playful and fun way. A unique experience that allows little ones to develop concentration, memory, language, confidence and working together...

Shake, turn, jump to the ground, and jump in the air! Toddlers learn co-ordination without realising, educating their hearing and sense of rhythm.

Vicky will introduce musical instruments to the lessons such as the saxophone, clarinet, flute, violin, keyboard, so that toddlers and young children can begin to discover the different sounds and styles of the world of music. More than just a singalong, the children work on reproducing tunes, understanding rhythms, and developing early musical concepts.

As children get older, at ages 5-6, our recorder group offers a transition between younger Buzz classes and starting a 'real' instrument. The class still contains lots of singing and games as well as starting to learn real pieces and read a little music. At age 6, Vicky will assess the children's abilities and will offer, through BEE, trials of musical instruments, as is normal practice in many UK schools. We can provide instruments for rental.

BEE is thrilled to offer an opportunity to discover music at an early age - something UK schoolchildren are familiar with, but which is perhaps not so well known here in France.

We are offering three time slots:

Wednesdays during term time
9:30-10:00- - - - -Buzz 2-3 year olds, 2,50€
10:00-11:45 - - - -English class for French children incorporating music, 7,50€
12:50-13:25 - - - -Buzz 3-5 year olds, 3€
13:25-13:55 - - - -Buzz Recorder Group 5-6 year olds, 3€

Classes are held in the Salle des Associations, Roumagne, near Miramont-de-Guyenne.
