Pottery Workshops
Thank you as ever to Jo and the children for a great day of pottery on 23rd October. To see photos please click here!
We're very happy to have teacher and ceramic artist Jo McKinnon back with us for another half-day pottery session on a Christmas theme on Saturday 4th December.
12€ for the half day, including all materials. Open to children aged 5 to 18, including both beginners and those who came last time.
Jo will teach children clay working techniques (such as slab, coil, and pinch) and they will make various objects, which Jo will take back to her kiln to fire at the end of the day before bringing them back to Roumagne for your child to collect about two or three weeks later.
For the Christmas session Jo suggests Christmas tree decorations, tea light holders, snowmen and much more! More specific information will follow - watch this space or subscribe to bee-updates if you don't already get emails from BEE (see form on the right)!
Each workshop lasts for one half-day. Times are 10-12:30, and 14:00-16:30 with a break in the middle of the session. The groups will be arranged by age, or you can state a preference on registration and we will do our best to arrange it to suit everyone. All materials are provided and are included in the price.
To register online please fill in the online form under the 'Register' tab. If your child is already registered for something at BEE please do only fill in the minimum information (unless, of course, something has changed).
On Wednesday 3rd March 2010, Jo McKinnon delivered a pottery workshop in two half-day sessions, which were fully booked.
Both sets of eight children produced some lovely careful work and concentrated hard throughout the full 2 and half hour session - some
were reluctant to leave their clay at the end of the session!
Handling professional clay is different from the quick drying material children are used to - but even the youngest
participants produced some very effective results under Jo's guidance, and the finished
creations looked fantastic when they returned from the kiln. Great job everyone and thank you Jo.

Thank you as ever to Jo and the children for another great day of pottery on 23rd October. This Autumn themed day was on ghoulish faces and leaf print tea light holders - some lovely work - to see photos please click here!
