World Book Day 2011

On Wednesday, 9th March (the second week back after half term) BEE celebrated World Book Day 2011.
Children from all classes came together during the morning session to share books and read to each other. Then, over lunchtime, we held a book and jumble sale for BEE.
We raised a whopping 400 euros for BEE so thank you VERY much to everybody who helped at the event, donated items to sell, or came along and bought things!
We would still like donations of books for both adults and children. Children's books in English we keep. Children's books in French we donate to Roumagne or Puysserampion primary schools. Adult books and other books we can't use will be donated to the Phoenix Animal Charity. Jumble will be donated to the Red Cross.
Money raised on the day will be spent on books, art materials and teaching resources to help further BEE's project, now in its third year, to help children develop and maintain their English literacy while living here in SW France.
Thank you!
